VIDEO PRODUCTION
PROJECT #1
YOUR THREE WORDS

Our first project for the video production unit will involve a take-off of Good Morning America’s Your Three Words segment.

We will look at 2 examples from Good Morning America’s show, but you can also Google your three words for other examples to view.

If you had three words to share with the world – just three words to express your hopes, your struggles, your sadness – what would they be?  Your Three Words is a fun way to express a viewpoint, share a feeling, or announce something to the world. It can be very simple, yet extremely powerful.

Your project will be done in i-Movie. It must meet the following criteria:

v    1 minute in length

v    Photos OR

v    Video OR

v    Combination of photos and video

v    Music – selection should tie into the theme of your video

v    Introduction slide/shot with the following:

o      Three Words

o      Your Name

o      AHS Multimedia Class

v    Credits at the end for participants and music used.

You may do a series of three-word combinations or one 3-word combination in your video. Think about involving your family, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc…in this project! Be creative with it!

- Include a title slide with

  • MUSIC VIDEO
  • YOUR NAME

- Include a second slide with

MOVIE PROJECT #4
www.animoto.com

For our last movie project, we will be using Animoto, an online website where you can create videos. I have created an account for you, which will allow you more than the free 30-second video you normally are allowed.

You may pick from 1 of the following topics for this final video:

Option #1: Graduation Video (seniors—this would be a great choice for you!) – create a video to show at your graduation open house or to give to your parents as a gift to celebrate your graduation from Ames High School! You can include pictures from the time you were born to the present. The focus is on YOU! There is a lot of music to select from, or you can upload your own music. Projects can be burned to a DVD to show at your open house or graduation party!

Option #2: Mother’s Day Tribute Video – surprise your mom this Mother’s Day with a video you’ve produced to show her how much she means to you! This would be a great gift of gratitude to your mom. Including pictures of you as a baby, pictures of you and your mom through through the years as well as text to describe your appreciation for her would make a great gift! We’ll even burn it to a DVD for her!

Option #3: Video Tribute to a Hero in your Life – Everyone has a person who has been an inspiration or hero in their life! Why not pay tribute to this individual with a video about them and what they mean to you. Suggested people include family members, church friends, teachers, or even a famous person that has inspired you to become who you want to be. We can burn your final project to a DVD to share with that person too!

If you think of another topic along these lines, let’s talk. I want this last project to be a personal one for you. This project should have some emotion connections for you.

Here are the requirements of this project:

  • Music required – one full song. This can come from the songs they provide or one you upload.
  • Images – should have enough and a variety to show through entire song. A minimum of 25-30 photos/images should be included.
  • Text should be included. Be sure to begin with a title and your name. Include other text as you see needed. Include credits at the end for photos (if taken from internet sources), song, and artist.
  • Post this to your blog. Include a short description and why you made the video.
